Actually when you beat yourself up for having social anxiety it becomes stronger. People with social anxiety often have the most irrational fears and beliefs that just are not true. I would like to tell you “Don’t believe everything you think.”
Our new mindset should be what are the social skills I must learn to enjoy being socially active, and to physically become social active.
6 Tips Toward Social Freedom

One person may be unable to leave home, another may not be talk on the phone but may be okay socially. Then other people have social awkwardness around the opposite sex. Apply the tips that are useful to you, the rest of the tips are for another degree of social anxiety.
Tip #1: Don’t fight the panic attacks, float through them.
Tip #2: “Don’t believe everything you think.”
Tip #3: Stop focusing on yourself, focus on other people or objects outside of yourself
Tip #4 Make a list of easy steps you will take to become social active, then break them down into smaller baby steps to make it even easier.
Tip #5: Take action, keep a journal. Some days you will take 1 step forward, some days you will 1 step back, you are not in a marathon, progress at you’re own pace.
